Janet
has more than 20 years experience as an organizational development consultant,
group facilitator and educator. Over the course of her career, she has
focused on maximizing the human potential available in organizations.
As a Gestalt trained practitioner, she works from a strong systems perspective
while integrating traditional organizational development strategies with
cutting edge technologies. She has successfully led strategic planning
efforts for large and small organizations; served as an expert consultant
to new and evolving teams; and developed creative approaches to organizations
going through challenging transitions and change.
Janet became a founding partner of Eastman & Guare
Consulting, in order to bring together the skills and talents of two
very experienced consultants to better serve their client’s
needs. Prior to this partnership, she was the principal of Janet Eastman
Associates where she worked for 10 years providing a variety of organizational
development services and building strong client relationships across
the public and private sectors.
Janet has worked as an internal trainer and consultant within a large
health care system and in state government where she coordinated staff
and organizational development efforts at all levels of these organizations
and across a wide variety of service areas. She has years of experience
in assessing learning needs and designing and delivering training
programs that are performance-based and tied to an organization’s
business initiatives.
Having achieved a strong track record of facilitating groups with
diverse interests to achieve their desired outcomes Janet is often
sought out to help struggling groups reach their full potential. She
approaches her work with a strong focus on the larger organizational
environment and partners with her clients to ensure that the right
need is being addressed in the right way at the right time. An example
of her work is the design and facilitation of a strategic dialogue
between 350 Tradeswomen from all over the country, which enabled them
to communicate their issues at a national level. She has successfully
coached many managers and staff to improve not only their own performance
but their group’s performance as well.
Janet has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University
of Maine and a M.S.W. from Boston University. She holds a certificate
in Organizational Development from NTL and the Gestalt Institute of
Cleveland. Janet has taught at Antioch New England Graduate School
and at the Maine Gestalt Institute. She is a certified trainer in
the Myers-Briggs Type and is licensed to administer the following
